Tough Devon League opener for our U17's

 

Our new U17s team played their very first Devon League match of the season, away at Newton Abbot.

 

Against a much more mature and experienced team, in a difficult, half-shallow pool, coach Andy Saulter, was pleased with how his Exeter youngsters acquitted themselves.

 

They refused to give up and were definitely seen to improve with each quarter of play.

 

The final score was 15-4 to Newton Abbot but - given that our Exeter squad have not been able to train together for several months now and some of the players have never experienced matches at this age level - they are to be commended for their hard work and bravery against a strong Newton team.
